Firstly, clinical psychology has nothing to do with real science, has no truth in it, and was founded by atheists. There is nothing valid in it. Nor is there anything about it which “belongs to Jesus.”

Ever hear of Nouthetic counseling?

So, you reject MCO’s analysis? Where were they specifically in error?

You said you rejected my “total depravity view” - You misunderstood something somewhere because I don’t have that view, and am as anti-Calivinistic as it gets.

While the article covered a lot of background behind the claims of “Wild at Heart”, there were plenty of solid examples of bad teaching taken from the book.

I reject Midwest Christian Outreach's analysis of Wild At Heart.

First of all I reject the arrogant secular/sacred distinction. It all belongs to Jesus. Truth about human behaviors and emotions is still truth even though it was discovered by someone who has not yielded his life to Christ much the same as a heathen scientist can discover truths in nature. You might have a problem with psychology as a science but that is your problem and not one helped by apologetics. To be sure, coming from a heathen source, we have to make sure what the heathen is offering as truth squares with the Word of God. Nevertheless, it is arrogant of the Christian to reject truth based on the human that discovered it.

I also reject your total depravity view that we don't retain the image of God despite being sinful. Sin masks who we were called to be, but it cannot destroy it. Underneath the sinful nature is a man created in God's image longing to be free to be who God created him to be. Sin cannot completely hide that yearning.

If men would stop being cowards and cast off the feminization foisted on them by a feminized Church over the last century and a half, the world will be better. Christians tend to shoot their own simply to be right in the apologetic argument.

Apostacy like Rob Bell's "Love Wins" is far different than disputing Eldridge simply because you believe his career field to be junk science. I have heard nothing from you to change my mind about Wild At Heart.

And the article was not really about the biblical truths of the book, but about how seizing liberty requires a courageous soul.

The book or Eldredge? The article I linked to gives good information.

I was given the book "Waking the Dead" several years ago and it was nothing but unbiblical psychobabble, and I tossed it in the can. I would have to have the book again to give specific examples. But there are many apologetics ministries who have addressed Eldredge's books and their focus on secular psychological ideas. Shouldn't be hard to find - I've read many over the years.

I'd like to point out that Eldredge's teachings are no more than secular psychobabble dressed up as something biblical. However, this book is know in the apologetics world for being "wildly unbiblical," and I recommend this review:
