The Ruling Class refuses to accept the decision of the sovereign people.  After all, they are the intellectuals.  They rule by divine right.  In Cass Sunstein’s America the sovereign people are merely Homer Simpsons who need to be nudged to do what is best for us.

Thanks to Ruling Class shills like Karl Rove and Charles Krauthammer, narcissistic Ruling Class candidates are encouraged to “Fight on” while the sovereign people’s choices have to fight battles over again.  All the polls indicating a dramatic victory for Marco Rubio in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in Florida, RINO Charlie Crist, and Ruling Class favorite, dropped out of the Republican Party.  As Crist was apparently not the “Anointed One” in the eyes of Florida Republicans, he changed his party, his beliefs and his positions.  Marco Rubio now has to fight against Crist, the independent candidate in Florida.

In Alaska, the choice of the sovereign people, Joe Miller, has to fight off the Ruling Class favorite again.  On August 24, Joe Miller beat Lisa M by over 2,000 votes.  Having lost the Republican Party primary to a Tea Party and Sarah Palin-backed candidate, Lisa M refused to accept the choice of the Republican rank-and-file and has announced “The gloves are off.”   (I shortened her last name so as not to give endorsement to her write-in campaign or to help voters fill out their ballots.  There is some confusion over whether a write-in candidate’s name must be correctly spelled on the ballot.  The Alaska Division of Elections rules state “To be a valid write-in vote, the voter must write in the name as it appears on the Write-in Candidate’s Letter of Intent or write in the last name of the candidate.”)

Lisa M became a Senator through nepotism.  Her Daddy, Frank M, who vacated the Senate seat when he was elected Governor of Alaska, appointed her in 2002.  (Incidentally, Frank M vacated the governor’s seat when Sarah Palin beat him in the Republican primary for governor in 2006.)  Lisa M won her first election to the Senate in 2004.  Her re-election was supposed to be guaranteed.  A poll taken less than a month before the primary had Lisa M winning with over 71% of the vote.  When the votes were actually counted she had less than 50% in a two-way primary.

Lisa M pledged before the primary to support the winner.  Of course with a huge lead in the polls she expected to win.  Now she is reduced to taking shots at Sarah Palin.  At her narcissistic event at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage Alaska, Lisa M praised herself as “one Republican woman who won’t quit on Alaska.”

By contrast the former Miss Congeniality in the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant, Sarah Palin relinquished her role as governor of Alaska to save the state from having to pay for her defense against unfounded ethics attacks by members of the Ruling Class.  When people told Sarah Palin to “Fight on” her polite sentiments were “It’s not about what’s best for me. It’s about doing what is best for Alaskans.”

Narcissist Lisa M is doing what is best for Lisa M.  This political self-preservation is in her blood.  Lisa M had no honor in entering the Senate and now she has no honor in her exit.  Sarah Palin left political power when the people wanted her to stay.  Lisa M is trying to hold on to power when the people want her to leave.  If real beauty is on the inside, Sarah Palin wins that contest too.
